George Paulikas papers 1960-1985

The George A. Paulikas collection contains professional correspondence, chronological files, and a few books from his years with national security space systems at the Aerospace Corporation, 1960-1985. He contributed to the Defense Support Program, the Defense Satellite Communications System, the Global Positioning System, Milstar, and the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program.

Dr. George A. Paulikas was born in Lithuania in 1936. He and his family arrived in the United States in 1949 and he attended high school in Chicago. He earned Bachelors and Masters degrees at the University of Illinois, and he earned a Ph.D. in physics at Berkeley in 1961. In the same year he joined the Aerospace Corporation as a member of the technical staff and worked his way up over the course of 37 years to become an executive vice president.
